BBC Weather Automation and Scripting

Weather studio automation and control

Moving the BBC from Television Centre to Broadcasting House required three new weather studios. Cybertronix  developed the software that controls the new weather studios. This comprises two main areas:

  • Automation - controlling the studio setup to suit a particular forecaster and channel.

  • Scripting - Creating meta data, controlling transcoding and sending via network, pre-recorded material.

Please contact us for further details. Axis issued a press release about their elements of the technology.

Together with Lighting Logic, Cybertronix also developed an emergency lighting control system at New Broadcasting House. A touch screen solution can remotely trigger emergency lighting in case of main or house lights failure.
