Using Solar and Wind power combined with radio transmission of video and alarms we have successfully installed a system to monitor playing fields and at a school. The system consists of three cameras at the playing fields and two further cameras at the school. A power management software package developed by Cybertronix running alongside our network video recorder detects from radio PIR movement sensors and (also via radio) powers the mast’s cameras and radios for a variable length of time depending on charge available in the batteries. In the summer this can run indefinitely. The video is converted onto the network and then recorded.

Skycam was developed to save the BBC using full video channels to bring back live views of many cities in the UK for use in Weather Forecast Broadcasts. It consists of remote outstations which collect stills and videos which are then trickle fed back to television centre over the corporate WAN, the forecasters can select videos to insert into presentations and then they are converted for Broadcast.
